I have always loved movies. They have been a favorite pastime for most my life, and for a few short years (1989 - 1994) I was even in the movie industry of sorts. As Art Director and Muralist for the Hollywood Video stores I had the pleasure of creating larger-than-life murals of movie stars and Hollywood elite... and of course access to a large library of movies de jour.

Las Vegas is all about the strip. I'm not just talking about the 4.2 mile stretch of the famous Las Vegas Boulevard known as "The Strip", so much as the epic nudes that grace the Boulevard.

Jubilee is my second figurative painting for 2012, and features the beautiful Kim as my muse. She modeled for me in 2007, and I've wanted to create a powerful artwork inspired by her energy since then. This painting celebrates my 50 years of life and appreciation of true beauty (I'll turn 51 by time my next painting is completed).

Created in beautiful pearl metallic wine tints over a pearl white/gold hand brushed base layered on a specially-prepared canvas surface. Metallic mediums mixed into my paints create a glistening effect with the changing light. This combination of colors and effects creates a new experience with each viewing. In this painting she is portrayed about 1-1/2 times life-size.
