April 13, 2026 — I was excited to join the Creative Coalition on Artificial Intelligence for their first General Assembly (via Zoom), hosted by CCAI co-founder Daniel Kwan and CCAI interim Executive Director Ted Tremper, and project managers Orit Michiel and Jim Geduldick (along with special guests).
The artist vs. AI battle over copyright and creative infringement has been ongoing for a while now. Up until just recently, the big question was “Are A.I. images art, and if they are, who created the art, and so who owns the copyright to the images created?“
Recently, the tech industry has announced a rapid series of agreements that have deeply alarmed the creative community. With generative AI evolving so quickly, creators need to come together, get on the same page, and leverage our collective power. CCAI recognizes both the immense business potential of this technology and its capacity to unlock genuine creative progress.
AI is everywhere in our modern world, and its presence is becoming more pervasive with each passing day. It seems there is hardly anything that doesn’t utilize Artificial Intelligence to some degree, from simple applications like virtual assistants that help manage our daily tasks to complex systems employed in critical industries such as healthcare, finance, art, and design.
By now, we can all see how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming many aspects of our lives, from how we work to how we interact with technology and others in our daily routines. From automating mundane tasks to offering advanced data analysis, AI is enabling individuals and organizations to focus on more strategic and creative endeavors. However, amid these advancements, there are growing concerns that AI may negatively impact human creativity and originality in the future as it increasingly takes over tasks that require innovative thinking and artistic expression.
Sometimes, it’s hard to know what’s real anymore. In this ever-changing, hyper-paced world of fast food and artificial intelligence (AI), so much is fake that it’s easy to forget what is real. In a society where social media filters and Photoshop often distort reality, it can be challenging to discern authentic experiences from manufactured ones. We are constantly bombarded with illusions and fake art, making it increasingly difficult to determine what is genuine and what is fabricated.
Okay, I have to admit, while I am an old-school artist at heart, I am also somewhat of a geek. So, when an AI app came across my radar, suggesting it could help artists write descriptions of their art, I was curious.
Creativity is a journey. Art is the manifestation of that journey. Sharing the art and its journey creates provenance.
All I see everywhere is ‘AI.’ It seems that most creatives I know talk about Artificial intelligence in one form or another and its pending influence on creativity.
