For The Love Of Lincoln

I love chrome, partly because I love old American luxury cars. The elegance and craftsmanship of these vehicles serve as a powerful reminder of a bygone era, where style and innovation went hand in hand. They were glamorous, huge, and had miles of chrome, especially in their grills and massive bumpers.

So, when I visited a car show recently and saw this stunning Opal Blue Green 1948 Lincoln Continental coupe, my smile grew ten-fold as I stood there reflecting on and into all those shiny, beautiful chrome shapes. The exquisite lines and contours of the Lincoln captivated my artistic imagination, as each detail told a story of its time. I knew then that I had to paint its portrait.

The 1948 Lincoln Continental was a true symbol of luxury and legacy. It was designed with unparalleled attention to detail, offering a glimpse into the automotive artistry of the late 1940s.

This iconic vehicle represents a sophisticated lifestyle unparalleled by cars of its day. With its sleek design and impressive engineering, the Lincoln Continental not only provided comfort but also exuded a commanding road presence.

From 1946 through 1948, the Lincolns were the only post-war American car produced with a V-12 engine. The sound of its engine is a melodic reminder of an era when driving was an experience to be savored. The 292 ci Flathead V-12 makes 125 horsepower.
