Phoenix Rising

Phoenix Rising From The Ashes

Artist At Large

They say you can never go home again, but I’ve been home many times in my life. I was born in Phoenix, and my family moved to and from the Phoenix area several times when I was kid. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve lived in the Phoenix Valley, mostly when I was young, and the last time I lived here was when I was in my early twenties before moving to Portland, Oregon, and later, Las Vegas.

Although I have not lived here for many years, the city and surrounding mountains have always held a special place in my heart. Whenever I return to the Valley of the Sun, the nostalgia washes over me like a warm blanket, and I feel like I’m home again.

According To Legend

In Greek mythology, the phoenix is a magnificent bird with the unique ability to regenerate or be reborn into a new life cyclically. According to legend, the phoenix is said to live for five hundred years before suddenly bursting into flames, reducing itself to ashes.

Revered for its association with the sun, the phoenix has captivated imaginations for centuries by ascending from the ashes of its predecessor. It symbolizes a renewal of hope and perseverance in the face of adversity.

Throughout history, the phoenix has been revered by many cultures and has appeared in various forms of art, literature, and mythology worldwide. Rising from the very clouds of darkness, the phoenix emerges triumphant and radiant, as if it were a magnificent beacon of light illuminating the world around it.

The phoenix’s fiery rebirth is a powerful symbol of resilience and transformation, offering hope to those struggling and inspiring them to rise from the ashes of their challenges and hardships. Even in death, the phoenix inspires awe and wonder, its sacred ashes serving as a potent reminder of its past greatness and immortal legacy that will endure for generations.

In many ancient cultures, the phoenix was believed to symbolize eternity and was associated with the sun, which was said to be reborn daily.

Indeed, the phoenix is a creature of legend and a testament to the enduring power of myth and storytelling.

Whether as an artistic motif or a symbolic representation, the phoenix continues to captivate and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds, reminding us of the enduring power of imagination and the magic of storytelling.

The Power of the Phoenix

Embrace the powerful symbolism of the phoenix – rising from the ashes as a triumphant rebirth, conquering life’s challenges and overcoming even the hardest of times.

Let this magnificent creature be a symbol of your own journey towards not just surviving, but thriving in the face of adversity. Remember that just like the phoenix, you too have the strength and resilience to rise up again and again, no matter what life throws your way. So embrace this symbolism fully, and take heart in knowing that every challenge you overcome brings you one step closer to achieving your dreams. Keep rising up, and let the phoenix be your guide on the path to true success and fulfillment.

My Phoenix

If you’ve read this far, you’ve probably gathered that I recently relocated to the Phoenix Valley. While I thoroughly enjoyed my extended stay in Las Vegas, and I will certainly miss my friends and co-creators, the time has come for me to return home.

I’ve recently set up my studio and am looking forward to creating new artwork inspired by my return.

Stay tuned for more soon.
