"CB of The Nineties"
When the Internet first started becoming user-friendly and popular, I had a friend who used to say, “It’s a fad, the CB of the 90s.“
Oh, how time flies. The nineties came and went, as did the two-thousands, the twenty-tens, and now we’re over halfway through the twenty-twenties. And now, here we are, thirty years later. Sometimes it’s truly hard to believe that an amazing three decades have passed since I first launched the first version of this website. Yet, here we are, with the ADCook.com website still live and thriving, unwavering in its core purpose and commitment to sharing observations and stories of art, cars, life, lifestyle, and creative energy exchanges.
It’s incredible to think about the dedication and effort that has gone into maintaining and updating the site over the years. It feels almost surreal to reflect on how much has changed in the world around us while this website continues to serve its readers with valuable content and resources.
What started as a somewhat simple HTML website showcasing my artwork and my team’s design abilities has grown into so much more. Back in ’96, we began incorporating dynamic elements and user interactivity that were revolutionary for our audience at the time.

In the early/mid-nineties, my team was already designing for the Internet, but like many, we were still figuring it out. Because it was new and changing almost daily, reliable information was scarce. Most of our knowledge at the time came from books and specialized magazines, so I spent a lot of time in bookstores in my quest for knowledge, rather than online, which was still extremely slow, grossly cumbersome, and lacking any form of search engine.
Back then, my team constantly experimented with new design trends and learned from each project we took on. Over the last fifteen years or so, I’ve continued to develop this website, working solo and exploring ongoing changes in web design and technology. In many ways, this site has served as a testing platform for other sites I build using similar tools.
I hope my commitment to growth and evolution has kept this platform relevant and engaging for readers and art fans, and that you enjoy reading its long list of nearly nine hundred blog posts and stories and viewing my artworks. I encourage you to check back and visit often as I continue to move forward in this wildly crazy digital era. Over and out.
