Enjoying A Creative Holiday Season!
It’s truly incredible to think that Christmas is already upon us once again. The air is filled with the scent of freshly baked cookies and the sound of carols playing in the background. Okay, that’s not happening where I am, but it is festive. And I like festive, because festive is creative, and creative is fun.
This year has been nothing short of fantastic, filled with memorable moments and experiences that seem to have flown by in the blink of an eye.
As this is a Christmas post — a time to express thanks and appreciation — I want to express my gratitude here. First and foremost, I am grateful for my family, which extends beyond my small but awesome immediate Mother and siblings and includes those close to me, of whom I consider family.
I am grateful that I still have a few older friends, and for those who are more central in my life. It’s not necessary to list them here because you all know who you are. You are loved and appreciated.
Included in that list are my favorite mentors and website post contributors, Bob Barnes, who writes the monthly Las Vegas Brewing News posts, and Frank Mallinder, who shares inspirational stories and insights with fellow seekers.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever: its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness.

CONTINENTAL, 36″ x 60″, acrylic on panel, 2025
I am grateful for many things: my family, friends, my health, and my passion for creative energy. In many ways, I am most thankful for a creative life. Creating is a big part of my life. It’s not something that another can give. It is a gift one gives to the world, and I enjoy sharing the creative energy of other creatives, like those I mentioned above, as well as those who have collaborated with me over the past year.
On a personal level, I enjoyed creating my CONTINENTAL car painting this year and sharing its journey across social media. I am also grateful for my time with the National Corvette Museum and their display of my MOMENTUM Corvette painting. You can follow its story here.
Looking forward, I am excited to kick off a new year back in the studio for a creative year of art, along with more writing and design time. Earlier this year, I started a series of ACEO (Art Cards, Editions, and Originals) artworks, which I plan to continue further this coming year.
I’m enjoying creating more miniature artworks while planning a couple of epic larger works. Over the years, my sketchbooks have gotten smaller, so small that they fit in my back pocket. Because of that, I find myself drawing something or another, and on more than one occasion, several in a session. Over this past year, I’ve doodled and sketched many dozens of drawings of people I’ll never know and things for no reason other than just because. Read my ACEO Journey here.
Beyond this week, it’s catch-up time, a silly week in the midst of Silly Season. Mostly silly for me since it’s all about wrapping up loose odds-n-ends, those small things that got missed or just unfinished projects.
Until then, as we gather with family and friends, I cherish the joys of togetherness and the spirit of giving as we quickly approach the close of yet another journey around the sun, reflecting on the time that has passed and the memories we’ve created together.
This time of year is also when we set our sights on the future, eager to see what the new year has in store for us. As the year winds down and the days grow shorter, it serves as a poignant reminder of everything we have shared and accomplished.
Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones! May this festive season bring you joy, warmth, and happiness, and may the new year ahead be filled with peace and prosperity for you and yours!
Let us hold on to the love and joy we’ve experienced, carrying that spirit forward into the days to come and celebrating Christ in Christmas!
