CORVETTE! by Marc Jones, 24″ X 36″
Featured LUSTER Artist
In celebration of American Artist Appreciation Month, I am sharing the art and backstory of fellow LUSTER artist, Marc Jones.
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Marc casually since March 2018, when we both appeared at the Museum of Arts and Sciences at Daytona Beach for the premiere of the LUSTER: Realism and Hyperrealism in Contemporary Automobile and Motorcycle Paintings Exhibition.
Marc was showcasing a few paintings from his Motorsports series, and I immediately fell in love with his art. Since then, our paths have crossed a couple of times, most recently this past June at the Las Cruces Museum of Art for the LUSTER artist discussion. Click here for the discussion video.
In many ways, you might say we are kindred spirits in our creative journey. Marc’s Motorsport Art has evolved and expanded its focus over a lifetime to encompass a diverse array of cars, including both foreign and domestic vehicles. His extensive experience with these various automobiles began at a very young age, as he passionately assembled intricate plastic models of his “Dream machines,” which fueled his imagination and laid the groundwork for his lifelong passion for motorsport art.
Having picked up my first real paint brush at the age of fifteen I can truly say that the singular constant in my life has always been my need to paint! To express my passions through form, color and composition. My works are all totally original and unique offering a one of a kind experience for the discerning buyer.
