First Annual Party In The Park

Sunday, March 29, 2-9 PM — Flat Iron Park, AJ, AZ

This past Sunday hosted a celebration of fantastic music played to a great crowd of around 600 fans of local talent. The free Party In The Park concert hosted by the Cul-De-Sac Cowboys at Flat Iron Community Park in Apache Junction (AZ) was beyond excellent.

It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed an outdoor concert, especially one as awesome as this, with its perfect weather and fresh grass to tingle the toes.

Local favorite, singer DONNY GRUBB, hit the stage to kick off the day. I’ve enjoyed his music at a couple of local venues prior, so I was looking forward to hearing him play to a larger crowd.

Next up was a duo of local yoddlers, known as ROCKIN’ M WRANGLERS, from Cottonwood, NM, performing their eclectic selection of whimsical Western Music (Sons of the Pioneers-type cowboy music) along with some newer stuff, including harmony, yodeling, and comedy.

At 5:00, the main act: the CUL-DE-SAC COWBOYS, a fun, high-energy musical experience with guitar, bass, sax, percussion, & three-part harmonies, hit the stage and entertained for a solid four hours.

In a festival setting, this event was BYOB (bring your own beer) and BYOC (bring your own chair), with bands working for tips and merchandise sales.

The venue also featured food vendors, free raffles, and drawings all day. Side note: the burgers were awesome!
