LUSTER Art Talk

On June 6th, I was honored to visit the Las Cruces Museum of Art for the LUSTER: Realism and Hyperrealism in Contemporary Automobile and Motorcycle Painting Artist Reception.

Bryan Lee, the Museum Curator of Education, hosted a group discussion with Cheryl Kelley, John E. Schaeffer, Marc Jones, and A.D. Cook – four of LUSTER’s participating artists. During this event, the artists shared their inspirations and techniques that drive their creative processes. Bryan moderated and recorded the discussion on video, capturing the essence of each artist’s vision and dedication to their craft. He was kind enough to share it with us, so I am posting it here so you may enjoy insight into the artist’s thoughts about their art and passion for their subject.

I was also honored to display my latest painting, CONTINENTAL, for a one-night-only showing during the panel discussion.

This venue marks the LUSTER Exhibit’s twentieth and final showing in its seven-and-a-half-year run. The LUSTER exhibit is on display at the Museum of Art until Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Be sure to plan your visit soon, as this is a fantastic opportunity to see these incredible artworks before they leave the gallery.
