It’s Car Show Season

Shifting Gears

Beautiful cars are inspired. I love cars — all sorts of cars, or pretty much most anything with wheels.

From classics to muscle cars, sports cars, street rods, and the latest hybrid vehicles, each car tells a unique story that reflects both its era and its design ethos. To me, cars are art – a beautiful integration of imagination, design, and functionality.

Artist A.D. Cook with Continental painting - WIP 041025Motorcycles and cars have long been a source of inspiration for my art. In fact, my latest painting, CONTINENTAL, was inspired by a stunning 1948 Lincoln Continental that I saw at a Cars & Coffee show in Gilbert [AZ]. I also discovered the white 1954 Corvette that I featured in my MOMENTUM painting, currently on extended display at the National Corvette Museum.

One of my favorite pastimes during downtime is attending car shows and taking photos to inspire my art. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of seeing rare models up close and engaging with fellow enthusiasts who share the same passion. Now that the local temperatures are dropping to a comfortable level (at least compared to July through September), there is no shortage of great car shows in the Phoenix/Mesa Valley, and I’m looking forward to attending as many as I can.

Last season, I posted pics from over two dozen car shows I attended from Autumn 2024 through early Summer 2025. Scroll below for links to catch up on previous car show posts.

This season, I hope to bring you even more thrilling insights and stunning visuals from the upcoming showcases.
