Celebrating America's Sports Car

Happy Birthday Corvette! America’s favorite sports car turns 73 today.

National Corvette Day is observed every year on June 30 to celebrate the birth of America’s first production Corvette sports car in 1953.

Many media outlets and Corvette organizations use the day to highlight Corvette history, milestones, and new announcements. I am celebrating by sharing my epic artwork, MOMENTUM, from a couple of years ago when I created my diptych artwork in celebration of Corvette’s 70th Anniversary.

MOMENTUM’s journey began in 2023 when the National Corvette Museum invited me, Artist A.D. Cook, to create a unique Corvette artwork for inclusion in the LUSTER: Realism And Hyperrealism In Contemporary Automobile and Motorcycle Paintings exposition, which ran from March 15, 2024, through January 5, 2025, in celebration of Corvette’s 70th Anniversary and the museum’s 30th Anniversary. Later, MOMENTUM was prominently featured for a solo extended stay through November 2025 and is currently showcased at Silo Auto Club and Conservancy in Indianapolis.

2026 Celebrations and Examples

Enthusiast sites describe it as a day to appreciate the Corvette’s design, performance, and cultural impact, often paired with “Corvette Week” activities and “Drive Your Corvette to Work Day” around the same time.

My Love For Corvette
