The Merriam-Webster Time Traveler tells you when a word was first used in print. I also love its other feature, the “Select a Year” button, where you can enter any year and see what words were published that year.

So, what is a polymath? A Polymath is defined as someone who excels in multiple fields of knowledge. Today, we might refer to that person as a “jack of all trades” — and some might suggest “a master of none.” I have to laugh at the master of none thought. I believe that a polymath is a person of many talents who also masters a few along the way.
Most dictionaries define momentum as motion or a series of events and speak of mass and velocity. My new art in the studio is all of that! I could not be more excited as my latest artwork, MOMENTUM, moves forward. Momentum is not about light speed. After all, the difference between the 1953 Corvette and the 2023 Corvette is seven decades of choreographed steps to get from there to here. Nothing great happens overnight.
My musically gifted friend, Bonzai Caruso, sent me a soothing rhythmic tune that I wanted to share with you. This relaxing music, he suggested, compliments my latest metal artwork, ETERNAL, so I felt it only fitting to create a short video with both sight and sound — an eyes-wide-open meditative experience.
Two years after photographing my model/muse for my latest metal fine art nude, the artwork is now finished and ready for my collector’s home.
It was a fantastic morning for this week’s Celebrity Cars & Coffee. The fresh air, clear skies, and perfect temperature inspired me to include the car show in my sunrise walk, so I got there earlier than my previous visits and hung out for about an hour so, taking in all the incredible cars of every variety.
It seems like only yesterday that I shared my post, The Big Five-Oh Oh!, celebrating my 500th post on the ADCook Blog, but looking back, it was about a year ago (original post date September 30, 2022). I hadn’t thought about it until now, but I have averaged about a post a week this past year.
IMPORTANT UPDATE — The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is under renovation, so it has leased the recently renovated BLUE BUFFALO ART GALLERY in downtown San Angelo for its forthcoming display of the LUSTER Exhibition.
Of the assorted projects and artworks I created a decade ago (2013), my Ferrari FF painting, FAST FORWARD, stands high among my favorites.
“I set out to write a book about what to do to make a great work of art. Instead, it revealed itself to be a book on how to be.” — Rick Rubin
Despite the grey skies and occasional sprinkles, there was a nice turnout of cars and enthusiasts for this week’s Celebrity Cars & Coffee.
I painted EQUINOX, my life-size fine art nude (above), on canvas 18 years ago, inspired by the change of seasons and the forthcoming winter. EQUINOX is a follow-piece to SOLSTICE, which I painted in 2004 to capture the essence and warmth of the Summer Solstice.
