I’m excited to share something new from the studio and a departure regarding my figurative metal creations. ELYSIAN DREAM started as a simple little sketch over a cold beer. I must have been drawn to the shapes because I sketched them several times over a few sessions before finally power grinding and sanding metal and beginning to paint. But once I got started, the artwork flowed like a dream.
I painted EQUINOX, my life-size fine art nude (above), on canvas 18 years ago, inspired by the change of seasons and the forthcoming winter. EQUINOX is a follow-piece to SOLSTICE, which I painted in 2004 to capture the essence and warmth of the Summer Solstice.
January 15 marks the end of the road for my painting, INDIAN SUMMER, which I created in the Fall of 2000 for a step-by-step article and cover for Airbrush Action magazine in April 2001. I had no idea at the time that I was creating what would be one of my all-time favorite airbrushed motorcycle paintings and, most definitely, the most traveled.

I’m pretty sure if Mona were around today, she’d be a biker. A lady for sure, but when the weekend arrives, that smile is all about the open road.
