Lenny’s Burger Car Show

Last week was a bust for car shows across the Phoenix/Mesa Valley. We had massive rainstorms and flooding, so needless to say, there were no car shows, from what I was able to find. Even if there were any, I would have passed. Given the hazardous conditions, safety was definitely a priority for everyone. Besides, no one wants their car out in that.

So, because of the weather, most events of every variety were canceled (or at least a no-show), while some of the regular events normally scheduled for the second Saturday got moved to this week. That was the case with Lenny’s Burger Car Show on Saturday (October 18), which is typically hosted on the second Saturday from 8 AM to 11 AM at Lenny’s Burgers, 2156 North Alma School Road.

The unpredictable nature of weather can certainly throw a wrench in the plans for car lovers throughout the valley. Event organizers had to scramble to communicate these changes to participants and attendees, creating a challenging situation for all involved.

Because of the reschedule, I’m told, there were far fewer cars than usual, which is around fifty or more. This week, there were about fifteen, but even though the attendance was light, the cars were impressive. Despite the smaller turnout, car enthusiasts still exchanged stories and admired the craftsmanship on display. I clicked off a few of my favorite cars for your viewing pleasure.
