Thank You Corvette Museum

Looking Back. Going Forward. Continued Momentum.

It seems like only yesterday that I created my Corvette artwork, MOMENTUM, celebrating America’s Sports Car, through two exclusive original artworks prominently displayed at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, from March 2024 through November 2025.

My Momentumous Journey

This journey would not have happened if not for David Wagner’s call one day, suggesting the LUSTER Exhibition, which I was part of with a selection of my motorcycle artworks, had a pending invitation to exhibit at the National Corvette Museum. LUSTER had already been hosted at several major museums over the previous six years, but for me, hearing that the Corvette Museum was considering hosting the exhibit was like icing on the cake.

As an avid lifelong Corvette enthusiast, I could not be more excited than at the prospect of my art hanging at the Corvette Museum. I’ve loved Corvettes since I was a kid, and I drove a black C4 as my daily driver during my Hollywood Video years as their art director and muralist.

So, when David’s call suggested an epic experience at the Corvette Museum, I didn’t hesitate for a minute. David’s offer came with a condition, though — to seal the deal, the Museum wanted a Corvette artwork to round out the exhibit. It seemed only right, after all, to feature America’s Sports Car art at the Corvette Museum. That is, in a nutshell, how MOMENTUM’s journey began.

But the invitation to create an epic artwork was just the beginning. My next move was to develop concept sketches and draw on my inspiration to find a couple of muses: a first-generation Corvette C1 and a current C8 beast to fulfill my vision of Corvette’s journey.

1953 & 2023 Corvettes at Southern Highlands Golf ClubFortunately, one of my art collectors had just ordered a brand new Corvette Z06 for a photo shoot in Las Vegas, so all I had to do was find a first-year model. Thankfully, my friends at Atomic Motors in Las Vegas referred me to a local owner who was happy to assist. With my cars lined up, my next hurdle was to find a location for a photo shoot so I could start my paintings. Southern Highlands Golf Club stepped up and graciously allowed us to set up a session on their green.

After that, as they say, all that was left was everything, and lots of it. Over the following weeks, I developed my concept and prepared my canvas for painting. A few months later, my artworks were complete and ready for inclusion in the LUSTER Exhibit. In early 2024, they were shipped to the National Corvette Museum, where they were prominently displayed until November 2025.

“A.D. Cook’s work supported our mission by helping people see the Corvette as more than a car. His art brings the story of design and legacy into focus in a way that invites learning and connection.”

In closing, I want to thank all those who made this experience possible.
